RUNNYMEDE - As we journey across this one-time island, we are reminded that here in 1215 King John sealed the Magna Carta, the very first charter of civil liberties, now famous throughout the World. See the gift from the American Bar Association!. We shall also pass the John F. Kennedy memorial.
WINDSOR CASTLE & ST. GEORGE'S CHAPEL - The largest fully occupied Castle in the World and the occasional home of Her Majesty the Queen. You will also have time to explore the grounds and view the Changing of the Guard (when available). During our visit to St. George's Chapel, we shall see the great wealth of treasures and also the tombs of King Henry VIII and Charles I. No access to Chapel on Sundays due to service.
STATE APARTMENTS - This visit is the highlight of our morning, and includes seeing the Queen's great and famous treasures. The collection includes works by Van Dyck, Rubens and Rembrandt.
This tour would normally finish around 13.15 hrs.
* On Sundays, due to services being held, there is no access to St Georges Chapel. ** At certain times during the winter or during state visits Changing of the Guard may not take place.
