THE COTSWOLDS
Wonder at some of England’s truly beautiful countryside - interspersed with pretty villages - as you pass through the Cotswold Hills.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the picturesque villages and pick up a bit of history in a local antique shop. There’s time to explore.

BURFORD
A thriving old wool town set in the hills of the Windrush Valley. You’ll pass through the Windrush and Dickler Valley and into Gloucestershire to Bourton-on-the-Water, often called the “Venice of the Cotswolds”.

We move on to Stow-on- the-Wold - the highest town in the Cotswolds at 800 feet - situated between the valleys of the Dickler and the Evenlode. The town has a large market square and is noted for its antique shops and teashops.

LUNCH IN THE COTSWOLDS
We will stop for lunch in one of the picturesque villages in the Cotswolds (tour price does not include lunch

BLENHEIM PALACE GARDENS
We arrive at Blenheim via Woodstock, the gateway to the Cotswolds, to visit the gardens landscaped by Capability Brown. Then via Blandon, burial place of Churchill, we pass through Witney, then Minster Lovell, to Burford.

CREAM TEA
Enjoy a cream tea in one of the beautiful villages.

BLENHEIM PALACE
(Tour 16B includes an optional visit inside the Palace instead of the gardens). The ancestral seat of the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is one of England’s most magnificent stately homes.

As you pass through the delightful little Cotswold town of Woodstock, you’ll discover the view across the lake of the palace that was described by Churchill’s father as “the finest in England”.
