Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace - Visit Ann Hathaway's Cottage - Visit a College in Oxford
OXFORD - The oldest university in Britain was founded here in 1249. A thousand years of lovely honey-coloured buildings gives this renowned educational centre a unique and memorable atmosphere. There will be time to visit an Oxford College and your guide will explain the many fascinating traditions of this beautiful city. This tour will take us past some of the major buildings, including those recently featured in the Harry Potter Movies
THE COTSWOLDS - Driving into the Cotswold Hills, you will see some of England's most beautiful countryside interspersed with pretty villages such as Stow-on-the-Old and Burford. We stop for lunch in one of these villages, with their "olde worlde" pubs and antique shops.
LUNCH & SHOPPING - There is time for independent shopping and lunch.
SHAKESPEARE'S STRATFORD-UPON-AVON - Stratford is one of Warwickshire's most beautiful Market Towns and also the birthplace of William Shakespeare and we visit the fascinating, 16th century home where he was born. Thereafter there will be time to enjoy the traditional timbered buildings and visit some of the many shops. Then we drive to the romantic thatched cottage in the charming nearby village of Shottery, where William once wooed his beloved wife, Anne Hathaway.
