Somerleyton Hall is a perfect example of a House built to show off the wealth of the Victorian aristocracy. The present owners, Lord and Lady Somerleyton (Third Baron and Baroness Somerleyton) will meet with you over morning coffee or afternoon tea after a personal tour of their magnificent home. Lord Somerleyton was a Lord-in-Waiting to Her Majesty the Queen from 1978 to 1991, and Master of the Horse, one of the three Great Offices of State, from 1991.

until his retirement in 1998. Somerleyton Hall has an exquisitely carved Library, Oak Drawing Room, Entrance Hall and Grand Staircase as well as a sumptuous Ballroom and magnificent stonework created by John Thomas, who worked on the Houses of Parliament for 17 years. The Hall is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens with a maze and interesting statuary. This tour also includes a visit to the ancient university city of Cambridge with college buildings of all architectural styles and the beautiful scenery of the Constable country with its many medieval timbered towns and villages.
